Sravanadi Jala - Trust the Process

Sri Jagannatha Puri Dhama Bhakti yogis organize their lives so that they may hear about Krishna in the morning, afternoon, and evening. One may trust this process of regular hearing because the bhakti scriptures as well as the great masters of devotional service all highly recommend it. For example, Narada Muni says: “O Vyasadeva, in that association and by the mercy of those great Vedantists, I could hear them describe the attractive activities of Lord Krishna. And thus listening attentively, my taste for hearing of the Personality of Godhead increased at every step.” (Srimad-bhagavatam 1.5.26) Srila Prabhupada’s comment on the above verse: “The whole idea is that simply by hearing about the Lord's pastimes one can become one of the associates of the Lord.” Jaya Jagannatha!   Vaisesika Dasa

The bhakti creeper greatly expands in the Goloka Vrndavana planet, and there it produces the fruit of love for Krsna. Although remaining in the material world, the gardener regularly sprinkles the creeper with the water of hearing and chanting.

Last day of Yatra!

We visited an area called spatha-san.  Which included haridas takur samadhi - since there was kirtan going on, we visited few more places - photos have the names.

Finally we had lunch at totta gopinath temple - prasadam prepared by temple devotees - the best of the best was the sweet rice - we had 2 rounds but I can keep drinking it for ever.

We have the final class tonight in 30 or so minutes - it is going to be an emotional one - about yatra reflections.

Day 12 at Sri Jaganatha Puri

1. Alarnath temple

2. Breakfast at the garden (BSST spot)

    At his spot BSST fainted - later gave many classes

3. Alarnath Gaudia Mutt

   Have a replica of Alarnath - Srimati Radharani's deity is very pretty 

4. Taking over of a public school with kirtan

  This was a riot - you have to see the pics and videos !

Tomorrow we are heading to Haridas takur samadi and lunch prasadam at Totta Gopinath temple! And as usual night prasadam will be from Jagannath temple !!

It's not what you know but who you know!

Some 18 devotees went to take the close up darshan(bad a darshan) after that class by VDA.

We were an hour early - malini Mathaji was intensly chanting - then she asked someone about lords dress - someone gave a not so saatisfying answer - then came a pujari (we were not sure if he was a panda of not) - later came to know that he dresses the lord !  From our point of view a messenger from Jagannath to serve the ISV devotees - 

With rest of the general crowd we saw the arati - the wnt to the rs 50 line -he took us right to the lotus feet - not only that he also "protected from other pandas/pujaris. He lead us to even do parktms inside the sanctum !!

Then we came out - be asked us to wait - he cane back with a pot with 4 items - he fed each one of us ! (Sweet rice, garam rice, deal, subji,,) - made me think of my child hood days when we would sit around my mother and she would give each one a handful). In the end he was not even willing to take money.

Bonus : we are going there tomorrow afternoon to see th kitchen and other places.

I dont think I could have asked for anything more than this for my half-sabbatical.

Back to the subject line - it does not matter what I know but who I know - thank you malini Mathaji for dragging us know with you.

By the way none kd the store bough jagganth look like th real one - I will try to go again tomorrow and get a better view - I also forgot to see where the sudbarshan (log) was....

Panda/pujari main message was "we dont know what is will happen next moment - so be happy now"....
