Krishna Katha at Nrsingapalli

All these experiences we have on the yatra will have a profound effect on our heart and someday will bear fruit and help us in our Sadhana. At the end of life, we pray to Krsna, Krsna please remember all my service to you and help me come back to you. SP says in the purport, Krsna doesn't forget anything and He remembers everything you did, especially all the devotional practice you did in difficult times.

This place is one of the sweetest places in the Dhaam. Lord Nrsinga killed Hiranyakashipu . In Melkote Nrsingadev drinks the offerings of devotees. Various forms of Nrsingadev are there everywhere in this world.

Hiranyakashipu was doing very deep tapasya by standing on his tiptoes and was getting fire from his head and ants were eating away at his flesh and then Brhma became pleased and he came down to give Hiranyakashipu benedictions - not killed by man or not killed by weapon, day or night, land or water, he had all these contingencies. This is the material world quality of putting these contingencies to cheat the Lord. Everyone is trying to become the Lord but the Lord is so smart that Krsna made all the perfect arrangements to kill the demon.

Just like Krsna made perfect arrangements to kill the demon, same way Krsna makes all perfect arrangements for his Devotees and for all entities as he is always trying to please all the desires of everyone by making perfect arrangements.

Krsna is not partial at all. It is only our own situation what we get or not get because it is only our desire and purify our desires so all we want is the devotional service of Krsna.

Nrsingadeva is very prominent in all lilas. When we worship Mahaprabhu, that is the gateway to the lila of Radha and Krsna. There is no way to get into Radha Krsna pastimes without the mercy of Mahaprabhu and Mahaprabhu showed the lila of Nrsingadeva.

After killing Hiranyakashipu, Nrsingadeva was going back to spiritual world and when he saw this place He came here to Nrsingapalli. It was such a beautiful place that many demigods came down to pray. BVT from his home would look out and a cloud of dust at Mangal aarti time everyday.

Connection of Mahprabhu and Nrsingapalli - Srivas angam. Chand Kazi wanted to stop the Sankirtan, Nrsingadev came and threatened chand kazi and he had nails on his chest.

Nrsingadeva is prominent in the lives of Gaura Lila and He is always protecting the Sankirtan Party.

Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura has written five beautiful prayers in "Sri Navadvipa Bhava Taranga" for receiving the mercy of Lord Narasimha. These prayers are certainly assurance to all sincere devotees that the worship of Lord Narasimha is purely in the line of aspiring love and devotion to Sri Sri Radha and Krsna. Those prayers are as follows.

e dusta hrdaye kama adi ripu chaya

kutinati pratisthasa sathya sada raya

hrdaya-sodhana ara krsnera vasana

nrsimha-carane mora ei to' kamana

Within my sinful heart the six enemies headed by lust perpetually reside, as well as duplicity, the desire for fame, plus sheer cunning. At the lotus feet of Lord Narasimha, I hope that He will mercifully purify my heart and give me the desire to serve Lord Krsna.

kandiya nrsimha-pade magibo kakhana

nirapade navadvipe jugala-bhajana

bhaya bhaya paya yan'ra darsane se hari

prasanna hoibo kabe more daya kari

Weeping, I will beg at the lotus-feet of Lord Narasimha for the benediction of worshipping Radha and Krsna in Navadvipa, perfectly safe and free from all difficulties. When will this Lord Hari, Whose terrible form strikes fear into fear itself, ever become pleased and show me His mercy?

yadyapi bhisana murti dusta-jiva-prati

prahladadi krsna-bhakta-jane bhadra ati

kabe va prasanna ho'ye sa krpa-vacane

nirbhaya karibe ei mudha akincane

Even though Lord Narasimha is terrifying toward the sinful souls, He offers great auspiciousness unto the devotees of Lord Krsna headed by Prahlada Maharaja. When will He be pleased to speak words of compassion unto me, a worthless fool, and thereby make me fearless?

svacchande baiso he vatsa sri-gauranga-dhame

jugala-bhajana hau rati hau name

mama bhakta-krpa-bale vighna jabe dura

suddha cite bhajo radha-krsna-rasa-pura

He will say, "Dear child! Sit sown freely and live happily here in Sri Gauranga-dhama. May you nicely worship the Divine Couple, and may you develop loving attachment for Their Holy Names. By the mercy of My devotees, all obstacles are cast far away. With a purified heart, just perform the worship of Radha and Krsna, for such worship overflows with sweet nectar."

ei boli' kabe mora mastaka-upara

sviya sri-carana harse dharibe isvara

amani jugala-preme sattvika vikare

dharaya lutibo ami sri-nrsimha-dvare

Saying this, will that Lord delightedly place His own divine lotus-feet upon my head? I will experience sublime love for the Divine Couple Radha-Krsna and undergo the ecstatic transformations called sattvika. Falling on the ground, I will roll about at the door of Sri Narasimha's temple.

You can't understand SB just because of your intelligence or just because you know a few verses. Somebody speaking the SB won't be able to understand the SB and it can only be understood by pure bhakti and it has to be revealed to us and by praying to Nrsingadeva he might helpu us go deeper into our bhakti practice. Nrsingadev removes the obstacles to progress. Once we list the obstacles Nrsingadev helps us to overcome them. The heart awakens when we get Sadhu Sanga. The heart is touched and we get some sukriti and we feel devotional practice is good for us. As our faith increases that the more I do bhakti, better off I am. Hence I want to do bhakti more and more. With Bhakti I'm not missing anything and the more Bhakti I do, better it is for me. In the beginning Shradha is very important and then comes Sadhu Sanga then comes Bhajan Kriya - hearing and chanting (all 9 dev items), Then come the obstacles - these are the obstacles to Nistha steadiness in devotional practice. This is the biggest complaint of everyone - one day devotional practice is great and next day it's horrible. Obstacle:

Sleep - Sleep is ignorance. Sleeping when doing bhajan is the natural propensity that holy name is not good and I want to do something else instead
Distraction - I'm chanting HK and then my mind gets distracted to something else. Mind jumps to something else.
Next is I don't have sleep or distraction but I Don't care.
Samskaras - picked up from many life times and these disturb me from time to time.
Senses - search for asat

These 5 obstacles can be overcome -

Good association
Hearing for a LONG time and
Continually practice devotional service as long as possible.

When we overcome these obstacles by the mercy of Lord Nrsingadeva then we come to Nistha. We want to do everything for Krsna's pleasure. Hence we pray to Lord Nrsingadeva to help us come to the platform of Nistha or Bhakti.

1) If you want to be rid of the influence of the dog-like personality of kali, then just sing the glories of the beautiful Son of Mother Saci (Sacinandana). He is the Savior of the kali-yuga (Kaliyuga Pavana), and He is (Kali-bhay-nasana), the destroyer of all fear caused

by the age of quarrel.

2) He maddens Sri Gadhadara with His name, (Gadadhara-madana) He is the treasure of the life of Sri Nityananda Prabhu (Nita'yer Prana-dhana), and He is the most worshipable object of Sri Advaita Acarya (Advaiter Prapujita). He is affectionately named Nimai by His mother, due to being born under a Nim tree, and He has been named Visvambhara by His grandfather. He is the only Lord of Sri Srivasa (Srinivas-isvar), and He steals the hearts of all the assembled devotees (Bhakta-samuha-cita-cora).

3) Lord Caitanya is the moon over Nadia (Nadiyasasadhar), the Lord of Sri Mayapura-dhama (Mayapura-isvar), and the divine propogator of His own name (Nama-pravartana Sura). He is the instructor of family men (Grhijana-siksaka), and He is also the hero of those who are in the renounced order (Nyasi-kula-nayaka). He is the husband of the Goddess of Fortune (Madhava), and He is over-flowing with the ecstatic moods and sentiments of Srimati Radharani (Radhabhava-pura).

4) Lord Caitanya is the corrector and purifier of Sarvabhauma Bhattacarya (Sarvabhaumasodhana), and the deliverer of King Prataparudra (Gajapati-tarana), the source of nourishment of Srila Ramananda Raya (Ramananda-posana), and He is a great hero (Vira). He increases the ecstasy of Srila Rupa Gosvami (Rupananda-vardhana), He is the maintainer and protector of Srila Sanatana Gosvami (Sanatana-palana), He gladdens Haridasa Thakura (Haridasa-modana) and He is very grave (Dhira).

5) Lord Caitanya is the source of all the transcendental mellows of Vraja-dhama (Brajarasa Bhavana), He is the destroyer of all mischievous and wicked mentality (Dustamatasatana), and He dissolves the mundane lust of the deceitful insincere souls by His causeless mercy (Kapati Vighatana Kama). He maintains and protects His pure Vaisnava devotees (Suddhabhakta- palana), and He chastises dry speculative knowledge (Suskajnana Tadana). He destroys pretentious and hypocritical devotion (Chalabhakti-dusana), and He is the reservoir of pleasure ( Rama ).
